Braemar Hill Hike - Hong Kong

The Braemar Hill hike takes you up to one of the best viewing platforms to watch the sunset over Hong Kong. You get to see a 360-degree view of Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, separated by the harbour.

I started my hike next to the temple is the Lin Fa Kung Garden, and at the end of the garden are the steps. The steps mark the starting point.

I took up a challenging hiking trail to get to the top. It’s was a deserted mess, the trail was difficult to follow. It’s also full of mosquitoes and muddy as it's summer in Hong Kong. The best part of hiking is that it teaches me to overcome challenges and to never give up and keep going. I did the same and the reward was fruitful.

The journey only requires you to put one foot in front of the other…again and again and again.

And if you allow yourself the opportunity to be present throughout the entirety of the hike,

you will witness beauty at every step of the way,

not just at the summit.

The trail continued until I reached a small sign on the left of the route. It was in Cantonese but you need to turn left here to reach the ultimate viewpoint, ‘Red Burner Incense Summit’.

Gorgeous views of Hong Kong from Red Incense Burner Hill

On the other side of these rocks is one of the best free views in Hong Kong. It offers a full view over Causeway Bay, Central, and Tsim Sha Tsui of Kowloon, where is a good sight for Victoria Harbour and the sunset.
